Call for Summer Interns


COMPANION is seeking gallery assistant, art handler, graphic design, and interpretation interns for the upcoming season and our annual group exhibition for the summer solstice.

  • Assist overall administrative, operational, artist care, and collector services in support of the 2026 summer solstice exhibition. Includes artwork records management, welcoming visitors, assisting with art sales, and maintaining exhibition sites. May include minor art handling and special event set-up.

  • Assist with the physical care of artwork during exhibition and transport, including inspecting, installing, lighting, maintaining, de-installing, and safely packing artworks. Experience with power tools, carpentry, secure mounting techniques, and collaboration with lead art handlers are required.

  • Support the development and completion of visual assets for exhibitions and events across digital and print applications to promote artists and engage audiences. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud software and collaboration with lead designers is required.

  • Support audience engagement and visibility through storytelling, marketing initiatives, social media, website maintenance, and catalog production. Collaboration with lead designers and intern team required.

Applicants must have strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to navigate multiple tasks at once.

Summer internships are 10-11 weeks, beginning in mid to late May and ending in late July. Candidates who are able to work 2-3 days / week in-person at COMPANION gallery and exhibition sites will be given priority consideration. All internships are contract positions, paid at $12 - $20 / hour depending on experience and availability. Some interns may have the option to extend the summer internship through the fall season.
