Make Your Own Foam Clogs | 1:1 Workshop with Nick Witten
Join us Sunday, May 25, 2025 to Make Your Own Foam Clog in a 1:1 workshop with Nick Witten, one of the exhibiting artists in STEP. STEP. STEP. Learn about contemporary casting materials and techniques and make your very own clog or pair of clogs using the same molds the produced Witten's clogs in the exhibition.
Nick shares what to expect:
In this workshop we will first cover the basics of the mold making process as it pertains to the creation of the clog from STEP. STEP. STEP. and a general understanding of the materials used in the process. Together we will prep the molds, weigh out our material, and choose a custom color of your liking.
Once our molds are prepped and our colors sorted out we will be ready to pour our material. Hold on to your hats folks, because this process is done in under 45 seconds.
Cure time will take 20-30 min before de-molding and walking away in your new custom clogs. A brief outline below helps to understand the full one hour workshop.
5 min of process explanation + Q/A
10 min of mold prep and color choice
45 seconds of mixing, pouring, and closing mold
30 min cure time
10 min de-mold
5 min of clean and reset
Nick’s workshop is the same day as our STEP. STEP. STEP. Pitch-In, so spend time with us before and after making your clogs!
